Product Opportunity Explorer

Amazon has recently introduced a new internal tool that, in my estimation, is going to be one of the most useful and important tools for every Amazon seller. This tool focuses on niche research.

What sets it apart from other tools like Helium 10, Jungle Scout, Seller Sprite, and the like, are two key differences:

  1. It's entirely free.

  2. It relies on real Amazon data, not estimations.

I've tested it on various niches and products of mine, and Amazon indeed draws its data from the source.

The tool allows you to play with and obtain various interesting data points in your niche research. So, over the next few days, I'm going to share some tips from this tool.

Today, I want to talk about Opportunity and the ability to explore your niche thoroughly.

In your keyword research, you can find data like:

  • Who the competitors are getting the most traffic.

  • How many page views each of them received in the last 90 days.

  • What percentage of traffic each competitor (including you) gets from the niche.

  • And many more enlightening pieces of information.

With this information, you can tailor your campaigns and target each of your top products in the niche. Essentially, you aim your campaigns at the top products that get the most exposure and traffic in your niche.

To access the tool, go to the Growth section and select Product Opportunity Explorer.

I've checked several accounts, and not everyone has access to this tool yet. If you don't see it, try opening a case with Amazon and ask them to enable it for your account. Even if they initially refuse, it's reasonable to assume that the tool will become available to everyone in a matter of weeks.

Good luck!
